GALA: Sweet eating apple. Crisp and very productive.
ANNA: Developed in Israel, this aple is excellent for the south. Disease free and very vigorous.
DORSETT: Yellow apple that bears large, high quality fruits without any cold weather required.
EINSHEMER: Another Israeli variety that produces bright yellow fruits with a semi-acid, sweet flavor.
FUJI: Very good, healthy, productive, resistant to scab.
JONARED: Very productive Jonathon cross. Improved Hybrid.
GRANNY SMITH: Green baking aple. Very good pie and eating apple. Very productive.
RED DELICIOUS: The king of all apples. Red, waxy skin and crisp, fine grained flesh.
YELLOW DELICIOUS: All purpose apple that is a prolific bearer of firm, juicy fruits.
STAYMAN WINESAP: Firm, crisp fruit with tangy flavor. Good for dessert or canning
JONATHON: A favorite for home orchards. Moderately tart and crispy.

CHERRIES
BING: Sold favority that produces rich, sweet flavored fruits.
BLACK TARTARIAN: Early bearer, a vigorous producer of large, sweet cherries.
EARLY RICHMOND: Sour cherry, excellent for pie making. Bright red skin and tart flavor.
MONTMORENCY: Most popular sour cherry with a sweet, tart flavor. An excellent canning cherry.
NORTH STAR: Natural dwarf tree that produces red, juicy fruits excellent for pies.
STELLA: Sweet, self-fertile variety.
FIGS
ALMA: A new Texas A and M introduction. Light colored fruits with extremely small seeds.
BROWN TURKEY: Usually bears several crops during the season. The smooth flesh is
amber and has excellent flavor.
BLACK MISSION: Very good, large dark fig with good production.
CELESTE: Firm, juicy, white colored flesh excellent for eating fresh. Good keeping quality
both on bush and in refrigerator.
TEXAS EVERBEARING: Oriental shaped tree, a good landscape specimen. This hardy variety
will produce several crops from early Summer till frost.
LSU PURPLE: Deep purple color when ripe. Closed eye at bottom prevents pest intrusion.
Very sweet dark flesh. Produces till frost.

BOSTON RED: Yellow freestone with fine sweet flavor. Ripens in late summer.
REDGOLD: Juicy, gold flesh. Bears heavy crops.
SUNGOLD: Large, dark red fruit with yellow flesh. Good flavor.
SUN RED: Low chilling variety for Southern regions where warm climates will not produce.
Very flavorful and good size.
SURECROP: Freestone with tender flesh and rich flavor. Ripens in July

CHILLING HOURS: Hours spent at 45 degrees or below. Fruit trees have
varying chilling requirements to bear to their full potential.
BICENTENNIAL: Yellow cling, ripens mid May. 700 hours chilling. Excellent quality fruit.
SPRINGOLD: The earliest peach we have tried. Ripens late May. 650 hours chilling.
FLORIDA KING: Large yellow fleshed cling peach. Ripens Late May. 450 hours chilling.
JUNE GOLD: Ripens in late May or early June. Good size yellow fleshed peach with strong market
acceptance. Clingstone.
SAM HOUSTON: Low chilling requirements and is recommended as far South as Laredo. Large
yellow freestone with red colorings. Excellent for Central and South Texas areas. June ripener.
SURECROP: Yellow fleshed, semi-cling. 750 hours hours chilling. Early June ripener.
SENTINEL: Round, medium size fruit. Freestone, ripens early June. Red skin over yellow
flesh. Good early peach.
LA FELICIANA: Yellow freestone ripens mid June. 550-600 hours chilling hours.
BELLE OF GEORGIA: White fleshed peach with a red blush when ripe. Freestone ripens late June.
HARVESTER: Yellow freestone, large size, ripens in late June.
RED GLOBE: Large, round, dark red skin and yellow flesh. Freestone ripening in July.
LORING: Yellow fleshed freestone, red blush, low chill requirements. Ripens early July.
HALE HAVEN: Large yellow skin with red blush. Fairly firm, yellow flesh. Freestone,
ripens early July.
BOUNTY: Very good peach, large, high quality late bloomer. 800 chilling hours.
RUSTON RED: Large red, yellow flesh freestone, very good bearer and cold hardy.
MONROE: Latest peach to ripen; late August. Large yellow freestone.
RANGER: Extra vigorous grower, large red-yellow fruit of good quality. Bears early July.
Late bloomer.
REDSKIN: Cross between Hale and Elberta. Yellow flesh and almost solid red skin. Freestone
ripens mid July.
RED HAVEN: Bright red freestone, yellow fleshed. Medium to large size. Ripens mid July.
One of the most widely adapted in the United States.
RED INDIAN: Red fleshed, red skinned clingstone. Excellent for pickling. Ripens in early July.
J. H. HALE: Large yellow freestone with red blush. Ripens mid to late July.
EARLY ELBERTA: Ripens about two weeks ahead of Elberta. Yellow fleshed freestone of
fine texture and medium size. Ripens early July.
ELBERTA: The best known and widest distributed peach in the country. A large, yellow
freestone. Ripens mid July. Excellent quality.
JEFFERSON: Very good, heavy bearer. Large yellow freestone. Ripens late August. Above
average disease resistance. Last peach to ripen.
COASTAL VARIETY PEACHES
EARLY GRANDE: Ripens mid to late May. Yellow cling, requiring 275 chilling hours.
EARLY AMBER: Semi-freestone that ripens in early May. Requires 250 chilling hours. Very good
commercial peach for South Texas and other coastal regions.
RIO GRANDE: Large semi-freestone peach that ripens in early May. Requires 450 chilling hours.
Excellent early peach for the warmer regions of the state.
FLORIDA HOME: Good yellow flesh peach, requires 300 hours of chilling.
PEARS
AYERS: Very sweet, fresh eating, cold hardy and productive.
BARTLETT: Large, smooth yellow fruit with sweet white flesh. One of the best known
and most popular pears.

KIEFFER: Produces in almost all areas. Hardy, robust tree. Large hard fruit, cooking type,
but good quality when well ripened. Only pear for pear preserves.
ORIENT: Large size fruit of good quality. Smooth, shiny golden skin, tantalizing aroma and
rich flavor.
MOONGLOW: Best for fresh eating, good quality, ripens early Summer and resitant to fire blight.
PINEAPPLE: Medium sized fruit of good quality. Heavy producer, firm and keeps well.
LECONTE: Attractive bell shaped fruit, creamy yellow with slight blush. Good, medium
soft fruit. Vigorous growing tree.
PLUMS
ALLRED: Tree serves a two-fold purpose. A beautiful ornamental tree with deep red foliage
and priduces luscious fruit with tender red flesh.
BRUCE: Good plum for commercial use. It is well suited to North Texas, the Panhandle and Oklahoma.
Ripens about June 1st - bright red.
BURBANK: One of the best eating plums. Reddish purple fruit with meatey yellow flesh.
METHLEY: Handsome tree; fruit large, deep red. It is very good producer. Ripens May 25th.
MORRIS: Large, red plum. Ripens in mid-June. Recent Texas A and M release. Excellent quality.
CHERRY PLUM: Medium size, dark, very sweet, very productive.
SANTA ROSA: Large, purplish crimson fruit. Delicious amber colored flesh, crimson and pink veined.
Ripens in June.
STANLEY PRUNE PLUM: One of the best flavored plums for making jams, jellies, or preserves.
The purple fruits are medium in size and of excellent quality.
OZARK PREMIER: Very large, freestone, yellow flesh with purple skin.

PERSIMMONS
EUREKA: Very large, tomato-shaped fruits are colored brilliant orange with sweet, soft
flesh. The trees are very vigorous, bearing heavier crops each year.
FUYU: Non-astringent, firm eating, sweet, dark fruit.
HACHIYA: Very good red orange color, most brilliant color of all persimmons. Some
weigh 12-14 ounces.
TAMOPAN: This tomato-shaped, red-orange colored fruit is delicious when fully ripe.
The fruit is large, ripening late in the fall.
TANI-NASHI: These large fruits are cone shaped with bright, orange colored skin, and delicious
seedless flesh. The trees are highly productive and begin to bear at an early age.
