FLOWERING SHRUBS
ALTHEA: This native shrub of China is particularly useful in gardens because of it's late summer bloom.
The double, four inch flowers cover the bushes which grow 6 - 12 feet tall. Available in red, white, pink or purple.
Also called Rose of Sharon.
CREPE MYRTLE: No shrub is more beautiful in the Southern garden in the summer, as the crepe myrtle,
which is covered with crinkly flowers appearing as if they were made of crepe paper. Available in white, red, pink or purple, peppermint lace in limited supply.
FORSYTHIA: There is not a more colorful or easily recognizable shrub that blooms in early Spring than
Forsythias bursting forth in brilliant yellow bloom.
RED FLOWERING QUINCE: In the early Spring these small shrubs are covered with brightly colored
flowers. These 3 foot shrubs bloom early.
WEIGELA: Among the most colorful of all shrubs in late Spring, every stem is lined with clusters of
tubular flowers. The shrubs grow 5 to 6 feet tall.
JAPANESE SNOWBALL: Very heavy white cluster blooms. Beautiful bush.
WISTERIA: In the early Spring there is a massive display of large, showy grape-like clusters of
beautiful, fragrant, purple to pink flowers. The vine is sometimes pruned to grow into a tree form.
